Identifiers & vocabularies
Honoria publishes its controlled vocabularies and ontologies as linked data. Every term has a stable URI under https://id.honoria.co.uk/def/ that resolves to Turtle for RDF clients and to a documentation page for browsers.
Concepts carry qualified outward mappings — skos:exactMatch to Wikidata, and skos:closeMatch to the equivalent class in The Gazette’s honours ontology, whose lower confidence is deliberately quarantined behind the non-transitive relation.
Vocabularies
SKOS concept schemes: the controlled term lists, each concept identified by its URI and carrying its post-nominal or code as skos:notation.
- 60 concepts
Gazette name titles
Courtesy titles and service ranks as recorded before recipient names in London Gazette honours lists, for driving name-title parsing from the vocabulary. Grouped by kind; abbreviations captured as skos:notation / skos:altLabel; reconcilable to external and service-rank vocabularies.
- 55 concepts
Gazette organisation types
Organisation-type designators as recorded in London Gazette honours citations, for driving role/organisation parsing from the vocabulary. Grouped by broad category; reconciled to schema.org organisation subtypes where an unambiguous equivalent exists.
- 27 concepts
Honoria honours ribbons
UK honours ribbons as linked data - generated artwork with colour provenance, linked from the honours vocabulary.
- 2,521 concepts
Honoria recipient locations
Towns, counties and countries recorded as UK honours recipients' locations, each with its coordinates, Wikidata entity and place hierarchy (town within county within country; overseas towns within their country). The name-to-identifier location reference; coordinates are folded in from the geocode stage.
- 500 concepts
Honoria recipient occupations
The occupations recorded for UK honours recipients (from the citation or Gazette job title), each with its recipient count and a best-effort match to an ESCO occupation - the EU standard occupation classification. A reference vocabulary; the ESCO match is a top-1 automatic mapping (skos:closeMatch), not a curated equivalence.
- 80 concepts
Honours vocabulary
Controlled vocabulary of UK honours award types, with mappings to Wikidata and The Gazette honours ontology.
- 66 concepts
Royal Air Force service vocabulary
Controlled vocabulary of Royal Air Force service terms - ranks, appointments and trades (roles), and formations - as used in official and historical personnel records. The full term is the identifier; its abbreviation (e.g. AVM) is a property.
- 9 concepts
UK armed-forces service-number vocabulary
Identifier syntax rules for UK military service numbers, by service, role and era, with regex patterns for validation and text extraction.
Ontologies
The OWL domain models — the classes and properties the vocabularies and the instance data are described with.
- 18 classes · 62 properties
Honoria core ontology
Classes and properties for the Honoria knowledge graph of UK honours: the reified Honour conferral and its links to people, award types, honours rounds, citations, topics, locations, organisations and Gazette notices.
- 5 classes · 7 properties
Honours ontology
Classes and properties describing UK honours award types and their order of precedence (orders of chivalry, grades, decorations and medals; order seniority and grade rank). The controlled list of award terms is the separate SKOS scheme at /id/honours.
Shapes
SHACL validation shapes. Published as files rather than dereferenceable resources: they are run against data, not looked up. SKOS and OWL define; SHACL validates.
- 10 shapes
Honoria core shapes
SHACL validation shapes for Honoria knowledge-graph instance data - cardinalities, enumerations, value patterns and provenance guarantees for the classes defined by the core ontology.
- 3 shapes
Honours shapes
SHACL validation shapes for the Honoria honours vocabulary - the well-formedness rules every award-type concept must satisfy (a language-tagged preferred label and scheme membership at violation severity; a definition and an outward Wikidata mapping at warning severity).
